Chicago: Yolk

Korean breakfast here pretty much sucks. Their breakfast doesn’t differ from the other meals throughout the day except that it’s a bit lighter. So, I really miss my good old American breakfast! I’m not even a huge breakfast fan, but it doesn’t take me even a second to think of where I would transport myself right now. It would be none other than Chicago, IL to get me some amazingly fresh and healthy omelets and pancakes at Yolk. I was introduced to this place last year in April by my friend, Albert (I can’t thank you enough^^). It’s no hidden secret though and because of their growing popularity, they now have a location in North River.

I found my perfect breakfast there, the Iron Man. It’s everything I love! Fresh, huge pieces of veggies in an egg-white omelet with a good portion of fresh fruit. Also, it comes with pancakes and I ordered the blackberry-banana pancakes. Once again, they put generous portions of fresh fruit in my pancakes and on top which equals heaven for me. All for about $15 which I thought was a great deal for the quality of the meal.

Service was just alright and I didn’t like the fact that you had to get up and pay at the counter. Hello, I’m trying to recover from food coma and you want me to do what?!? Who am I’m kidding, I still love them and want them to open up one in Southern California. Please come soon, my love!
