I thought I would finally post about Gul Naz. It’s a Pakistani restaurant that serves halal food, but I stumbled upon it while searching for some Indian food in the Inland Empire, hah funny. Also, it is randomly out in Colton, so I rounded up Chris and off we went.
Gul Naz is your standard shopping plaza restaurant, nothing fancy with some curtains to add some character. But who cares, the food here is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Our waitress, who I believe was the owner’s daughter was sassy and hilarious. If you hate interacting with the server and want less talk and more work, then I recommend you don’t come here. I loved it though!
Mango Lassi
$3.99A mixture of milk, mango pulp and fresh homemade yogurt with sugar blended together.
I heart mango lassi and I’m not really picky about it. They also have salty lassi and strawberry lassi, must check that out next time.
Basmati Rice
For those needing rice with their meal, they use basmati rice. Of course, topping it off with some cilantro.
Bangan Bharta $7.99
Fresh eggplant baked over a slow flame, cooked with our special blended sauce,
seasoned with spices & herbs.
Chris is vegetarian and ordered this mild. What a weak sauce, hah. It was delicious, but I really suggest you get it pretty spicy.
Lamb Karahi $11.99
Delicious chunks of fresh lamb prepared with fresh tomatoes, green chilies,
fresh garlic and ginger, garnished with fresh cilantro.
Mmm, this was amazing! I spoke with the waitress for a while to make sure this would come out right haha. I have to go in saying I want it spicy, spicy hah. Really flavorful and a nice kick to really make my taste buds go wild. Just look at all that cilantro and chilies! Thankfully I had the mango lassi within reach
The lamb was also soft and not overcooked. I think I love Pakistani food more than Indian food now
This place is legit! I know this was my first time having Pakistani food, but I’m just going to bold. Also when their customers are mostly Pakistani or Indian, I feel correct in stating it is authentic. I’m a huge fan and will definitely be coming back. I mean I do still need to try their home-made kulfi
