San Diego Restaurant Week
January 15-20, 2012

Happy 2012! Sorry for being MIA, but just been sitting back and enjoying the Holidays. Yup, pretty much been eating way too much hah. Thank goodness I got a juicer for Christmas, so I can start adding some green jucie to my diet :)

Anyways it’s that time again, San Diego Restaurant Week (SDRW)! Even with its ups and downs, I am still a fan. I mean how can you not love a culinary tradition that is held twice annually featuring over 180 San Diego restaurants that offer discounted lunch or dinner prix-fixe menus?

Del Mar Rendezvous has been kind enough to offer once again a certificate for dinner for two during SDRW. If you all don’t know by now, I am a huge fan of their walnut shrimp. I L-O-V-E it and must order it every time I am there. My review of their 2012 SDRW menu can be found here. My post on their previous SDRW menu here and non-SDRW menu here.

I'd like to try the kung pao pork tenderloin.

  2. Mimi says:

    Hi,
The dish I would like to try would be the mongolian rack of lamb simply because I've never tried rack of lamb at all and I like trying new things. I'd also like to point out that I've been following you for awhile now (hinty hint hint for entry #2 :-P ) my twitter is @EviEAaY.

  3. Harvitron says:

My picks would be the dumplings, kung pao pork, and xango! Hopefully I can convince my dining companion to get the spicy eggplant, too…

  4. Jenny Cleary says:

@vicky – good choice, the pork is so good! I almost didn't get it, but so glad I did. I told them they should add it to their menu hah. Thanks for commenting and good luck!

@mimi – thanks for being a follower! Their rack is lamb is very good too. Just don't be lame and ask for it well done though. Otherwise your own fault ;) good luck and thanks for commenting.

@harvitron – nice 3 course. The pork soup dumplings are always a nice treat :) too bad they don't have a pork dessert for you to complete the theme, hah jk. Yes work your magic for some eggplant. It's not tht spicy, do if you want some heat ask for extra spicy or ask for some side hot sauce to get it to your liking. Thanks for commenting and good luck!

    • Mimi says:

Definitely not going to get it well done; I normally order my steaks medium well because I like the natural juices and the way the seasonings melt in your mouth. I'm making myself hungry lol.

  5. Cliff says:

The Pork Tenderloin!!! I've heard that it's cooked pretty rarely – which is rare in itself!

  6. kirbie says:

  11. Jenny Cleary says:

@cliff – the one served to one wasn't that rare. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't well done but maybe medium. If you prefer it on the rare side I suggest you mention it to the waiter :) thanks for commenting and good luck!

@Kirbie I hope you get to try the chowder. I'm no expert on it, so curious what your thoughts are on it. Thanks for commenting and following!

@lexu yes I hope you enjoy the pork as much as I did. Good luck and thanks for commenting!

@dpoquiz I wish you luck on the contest so you can get that pork in your belly ;) thanks for the comment and the kind words!

@jessica – hope you like chowder a lot because it's a pretty massive bowl that feeds four people. Sharing is caring :) thanks for commenting and good luck!
